About Us

At Indian Village, caring for families is at the heart of who we are. Our dedicated staff has created a warm, welcoming environment where every child and parent is treated like family. That care often extends beyond our walls, with many team members supporting families throughout the community.

Student Life & Enrichment

CEO Award
We celebrate students who lead by example with our CEO Award — Chief Example to Others.

Student of Distinction Pledge
Each morning begins with the Student of Distinction Pledge to encourage excellence and strong character.

Character Trait of the Month
Each month, students focus on a new character trait that supports their personal and social growth.

Honor Day (Academic and Citizenship Awards)
At the end of each nine weeks, we recognize students for:

  • Honor Roll

  • Principal’s List (all As)

  • Perfect Attendance

  • Outstanding Citizenship

Honor Roll Breakfast
Students in grades 3 through 5 who have made the Honor Roll or Principal’s List at any time during the year are invited to an Honors Breakfast. They receive certificates and are celebrated for their achievements.

5th Grade Recognition
At the end of the year, 5th grade students are recognized for academic success, attendance and citizenship. We also present Legacy Awards to students who have been with Indian Village since Pre-K or Kindergarten.

Positive Office Referrals
Students who go above and beyond in behavior, kindness or effort can receive a positive office referral. These students are recognized by staff and celebrated in the office with a call home and a certificate to take home.

Field Trips
Students from all grade levels take part in field trips that enhance classroom learning and help build a stronger understanding of the world around them.

Annual Events

Family:

Kindergarten Countdown
Funded by United Way, this half-day program invites incoming kindergarten students to visit Indian Village. They enjoy breakfast and lunch, explore the school, and participate in fun, engaging activities to help them get ready for kindergarten.

5th Grade State Project Presentations
Our 5th grade students complete an in-depth state research project and present their work in the gym. Families are invited to attend and learn from these impressive displays of student learning.

An Evening Around the World
Inspired by a 5th grade student, this event celebrates global cultures. Each grade level researches a different country and presents what they’ve learned. Families are invited to explore the exhibits and enjoy an evening of international learning and connection.

End-of-Year School Carnival
To celebrate a successful school year, Indian Village hosts a fun carnival for all students. The event includes games, inflatables, music, face painting and treats like popcorn and snow cones. With help from staff and volunteers, students enjoy a day of laughter and celebration as they wrap up the year and head into summer break.

Turkey Gobble Contest
A fun, school-wide tradition organized by the PTA and Student Leadership Council. Students donate canned goods to receive a bag they decorate like a turkey. During the contest, the best "gobbler" wins based on applause from students and staff. Prizes include a turkey and a pumpkin pie.

Bike to School / Walk to School Day
A favorite event that promotes health and community. Students walk or ride their bikes to school alongside staff and families.

5th Grade Buddies Program
Kindergarten and students in grade 5 partner twice a month to work on special projects and build meaningful connections. At the end of the year, they participate in a buddy parade to showcase their work.

Water Bottle Car Competition
Applied Skills and students in grade 5 design and build cars out of water bottles. They race them in the gym while other grade levels watch and cheer them on.
